It's not just about losing points or games. It's about losing confidence.
I've spent years searching for the answer, working with hundreds of senior players who love this game but struggle with this same maddening inconsistency.
The secret isn't more practice, younger reflexes, or complex strategies.
It's something much simpler and more powerful – a natural approach specifically designed for our bodies and minds after 50.
This discovery led me to create two essential elements that work together to transform not just how you play, but how you experience the entire game:
🚫 No more confusion about what to practice.
🚫 No more worrying about keeping up with younger players.
Instead, you'll get clear, actionable steps that build your confidence with every game - while protecting your joints and preventing injury.
Now, when my students started reading and implementing "The Perfect Guide To Acing Pickleball," something magical happened.
Players in their 50s, 60s, 70s, and even 80s who had been struggling with inconsistency were suddenly playing with natural confidence.
Their shots became more reliable, their strategy more effective, and their enjoyment of the game increased dramatically.
But as their skills improved, I noticed something unexpected happening in my inbox.
The emails I received weren't just about technique implementation.
Alongside questions about dinks and third shots, these players were expressing a deeper need – they were craving connection with others who understood their journey.
"Mark, do you know anyone else my age who plays?" they'd ask after sharing their progress.
"Is there a way to meet other seniors who take this seriously?" came the question after describing a breakthrough.
"I wish I had partners who understood what I'm going through," they'd confide at the end of technique questions.
As players implemented these techniques from the book, they had questions that went beyond the mechanical aspects of the game.
They needed accountability from peers who understood the unique challenges of developing consistency later in life.
Most importantly, they were seeking connections with other players who understood their journey – the frustrations, the small victories, the physical considerations, and the pure joy of improvement at an age when many believe decline is inevitable.
That's when I had my second breakthrough: inconsistency wasn't just a technical problem. It was also a social one.
That's where I realized that I had only solved half the equation.
To truly transform the pickleball experience for players over 50, I needed to create something that didn't exist anywhere else: a community specifically designed for their unique journey.
The Obsessed Pickleballers Community is a private community exclusively for pickleball players over 50 who are serious about improving while making meaningful connections.
It isn't just another Facebook group or generic forum. It's a carefully curated family of like-minded players who support each other both on and off the court.
Here, members find:
Many members tell us that while the improved play is life-changing, it's the connections they've made that truly transformed their retirement years.
As Dorian (age 67) recently shared: "I came here just for pickleball and stayed here for the lovely connections."
Together, These Create Something Truly Special
The book gives you the technical foundation – the natural, age-appropriate techniques that eliminate inconsistency and build confidence.
The community provides the support system – the encouragement, accountability, and friendships that turn knowledge into lasting transformation.
Together, they create a complete system where better play leads to better connections, and better connections enhance your enjoyment of the game in ways you never thought possible.
Think about the transformation this creates:
And this could be YOU in a few minutes from now...
Right now, on this page, you can get immediate access to both.
For a limited time, I'm offering LIFETIME access to The Perfect Guide to Acing Pickleball PLUS a private invitation to the Obsessed Pickleballers Community – all for a special introductory price that won't last long.
Re: Your Pickleball Journey (and why this natural approach changes everything for older players)
Hello, I am Mark and I love pickleball just like you do!
Maybe… but here's the part that might surprise you even more…
Players just like you—who used to struggle with consistency, missed easy shots, felt nervous at the net, or worried about keeping up with younger players—are now playing with confidence and becoming the steady, reliable teammates everyone wants.
And they're doing it in just 3-4 weeks.
The truth is, most players over 50 don't improve not because anything is wrong with them …
But because most pickleball instruction isn't designed with their needs in mind.
They start focusing on all the technical details…
They watch countless videos about proper court positioning…
They read articles about advanced strategies...
They try copying what younger, more athletic players are doing...
And you know what happens?
Instead of feeling more confident, they start second-guessing every shot.
Instead of enjoying the game, they're stuck in their heads.
Instead of natural flow, every movement becomes mechanical.
Instead of protecting their joints, they risk injury trying moves designed for younger bodies.
And behind all of that? A quiet fear many players carry:
– “Maybe my body’s not built for this anymore.”
– “Am I becoming the weak link?”
– “Will people stop inviting me to play?”
You won’t hear that out loud — but you’ll feel it.
I know because I've been there.
The more I focused on the "perfect" technique, the less I trusted my natural instincts.
Every shot became a mental checklist:
Is my paddle at the right angle?
Am I bending my knees enough?
Should I be closer to the kitchen line?
What would that YouTube video say about this?
Am I going to hurt my shoulder if I reach for that shot?
Do you spot me? I am the one with the victory sign, as always, haha!
After years of being a sports fanatic and having played pickleball for almost a decade now, I've learned that pickleball for relatively older players is about so much more than just technique.
The same natural approach that players over 50 from all over the US are now using to:
Turn frustrating inconsistency into reliable, confident play
Make every shot feel effortless and natural
Improve their DUPR
Play without the fear of injuries like tennis elbow, achilles tendon, strains, or cramps
Win points through smart play, not power
Play multiple times a week without getting exhausted
Build a wonderful circle of pickleball friends in their age group while improving their game
A calendar filled with social plans with your new pickleball friends
Weekend gatherings that begin on the court and continue over dinner
Travel partners who share your passion for exploring new courts and communities
A renewed sense of purpose and belonging
The physical vitality that comes from regular, enjoyable movement
The mental sharpness that develops when you're constantly engaged and challenged.
These aren't just stories about improving technique.
These are players who rediscovered joy, confidence, and community — all through pickleball.
✅ They found the courage to show up consistently
✅ They stopped second-guessing every shot
✅ They built real friendships through shared wins and losses
✅ And most importantly, they proved it’s never too late to grow
Doesn't require endless drilling that stresses aging joints
Doesn't force you into aggressive techniques designed for younger bodies
Doesn't make you memorize complex strategies
Doesn't risk injury or burnout
Doesn't make you feel like you can't keep up
Trying to remember 27 different technical tips during games that I learned on YouTube
Second-guessing every shot
Feeling nervous before matches
Worrying about letting partners down
Missing out on the pure joy of playing
Fearing injury or overexertion
Missing opportunities to connect with others
Just when you think you've mastered your volleys, your resets start failing you. And when those resets finally click, something else feels off.
It's like a game of whack-a-mole:
Fix your dinks, lose your serves
Master your serves, struggle with drops
Get comfortable at the net, forget how to reset
Learn an advanced strategy, forget the basics
Feel great one game, lose confidence the next
Have energy at the start, feel exhausted by the end
No scorecard.
No opponents analyzing my form.
No partners.
No thinking about technique.
No pressure to keep up with younger players.
Just the rhythmic pat-pat-pat of the ball.
And then something magical happened...
Suddenly, everything felt effortless.
My dinks were floating perfectly.
My serves were landing exactly where I wanted.
Every movement felt as natural as walking…
I felt like a kid again, just playing for the pure joy of it.
This wasn't just practice…
This was a breakthrough…
That's when it hit me - I was playing better in my driveway than I ever did on court!
Why?
Because I wasn't overthinking.
I wasn't trying to remember 27 different tips from YouTube videos.
I was just letting my natural athletic ability take over.
But the next breakthrough?
That came from something completely unexpected...
I spent months studying why some pickleball players over 50 just seemed to "get it" while others struggled forever.
I started watching the players at our local courts with fresh eyes…
You know those players - the ones in their 60s and 70s who make the game look effortless? The ones everyone wants as their partner despite their age?
I noticed something fascinating about them:
They weren't necessarily the most athletic.
They weren't frozen with indecision before each shot.
They definitely weren't the ones obsessing over every little detail of their technique.
They weren't trying to play like 25-year-olds.
Their shots weren't always perfect, but they were consistently effective.
They used their wisdom instead of raw power.
Think about how you catch a ball when someone tosses it to you...
You don't think about it.
Your brain has already figured out these natural patterns. It's the same way you can:
Walk up stairs without counting steps
Drive your car while having a conversation
Catch yourself when you stumble
And it was no different for these players.
These players weren't relying on rigid techniques or overanalyzing every move.
Instead, they tapped into something deeper—something instinctive.
They had unlocked a way to play that felt natural, almost automatic, while everyone else was stuck in their own heads.
And that's when it hit me…
The best pickleball players over 50 don't just play differently.
They think differently about the game.
While everyone else is trying to copy pro techniques or memorize complex strategies, these players focus on something much simpler - but far more powerful.
They focus on patterns.
Not the complicated patterns you might be thinking of...
I'm talking about natural, intuitive patterns that your brain already knows how to recognize.
The same patterns that let you catch a ball without thinking... or dance to music without counting steps.
And just when I thought I had it all figured out, something else also clicked…
Pickleball isn't just about playing harder—it's about playing smarter. And this is where mature players have a massive advantage.
This was my biggest "aha" moment...
I realized something simple yet super effective:
You win more points by making them play another shot than by trying to hit the perfect highlight-reel winner.
Think about that for a second.
While everyone else is trying to make spectacular shots…
While they're aiming for the perfect dink...
While they're going for that crushing drive...
The best players are focused on something much simpler: Just getting the ball back over the net one more time.
But here's the beautiful part - this discovery didn't just transform my game. It completely changed how I enjoyed pickleball.
When you stop trying to hit perfect shots all the time:
The pressure disappears
Rallies become more fun
You connect better with your partners
The game becomes what it was always meant to be
Your body thanks you for not overexerting
The more fun I had, the better I played.
The less I stressed, the more matches I won.
The more I enjoyed myself, the more others wanted to play with me.
The smarter I played, the less strain I put on my body.
This new approach started showing results almost immediately, with players in their 50s, 60s and 70s winning medals in age-division tournaments throughout the Phoenix valley.
That match taught me something powerful:
When you stop fighting against your natural abilities and start working with them, amazing things happen - at any age.
The best part?
I've seen this same transformation in older players I've coached - regular folks who thought their best sporting days were behind them, suddenly playing with confidence and joy, winning medals at local tournaments.
The kind of player who:
Makes every game more enjoyable
Helps others feel more confident
Builds lasting friendships on court
Inspires others with their skill despite their age
And I Put This Entire Strategy Into a Complete E-Book Called "The Perfect Guide to Acing Pickleball"...
...but I didn’t stop there.
I knew that information alone wasn’t enough—so I paired it with a private, supportive community where players just like you grow together, stay motivated, and actually enjoy the journey.
Because when you combine the right game plan with the right people, something amazing happens.
And you can start reading the book and be a part of this life-changing community in a couple minutes from now...
But before you do, I'd like to tell you a bit more about who I am and how this all came to be.
My pickleball journey began nine years ago when my wife, who had been playing for almost a year, finally convinced me to try it. I quickly fell in love with the sport, finding that my basketball skills translated easily to pickleball.
Before pickleball, I spent over 30 years in the corporate world in the medical device space, in sales, sales management, and sales training. I've always been an active person—playing baseball, basketball, and football growing up, and later becoming an avid runner who completed three marathons.
Now, I'm a certified PPR registered pickleball instructor and have won medals in local tournaments throughout the Phoenix valley.
But what truly sets me apart is my coaching philosophy and my special understanding of how to help senior players excel.
With over 25 years of coaching experience, teaching is in my DNA. There's nothing more fulfilling than seeing people over 50 reach their true potential and beyond!
I've built an amazing circle of friends across all ages and backgrounds, dramatically improved my own game while becoming a coach that players genuinely connect with, and found a community that supports me both on and off the courts.
What started as a reluctant first game has become the center of my social world and daily joy.
Now let's talk about something that I had to learn through countless hours on the court - the fundamental mistakes that hold players over 50 back.
As my own skills developed and I began coaching older players, I noticed patterns emerging.
Whether it was beginners just picking up a paddle for the first time or experienced players struggling to break through plateaus, there was one recurring issue that seemed to affect players across all skill levels.
But here's what nobody tells you:
Wisdom and smart play beat raw athleticism every time.
Think about the best players at your local courts:
They're not the most technically perfect
They're not the most powerful
They're not the most athletic
They're not doing anything complicated
They make the game feel natural for their bodies as they are today.
And once I understood this, everything changed.
Not just for me, but for hundreds of players I've coached:
Recreational players in their 60s becoming tournament winners
Players with arthritis returning to sports confidently
Couples in their 70s enjoying mixed doubles together
Retirees finding new social circles through pickleball
Complete beginners over 50 becoming everyone's favorite partners
And...
Sure, playing better feels amazing.
But for most players over 50, the real reward is what happens around the game.
The laughs between points.
The friendships that extend beyond the courts.
The sense of belonging — of being seen, included, and appreciated.
This program helps you improve your game, yes — but more importantly, it helps you become the player people admire.
Not just because you’re good… but because you make every game better.
I've coached many sports over the decades, but I've never seen anything quite like this.
Where else can you have a 55-year-old and an 85-year-old learning and playing together, both having an absolute blast?
This is why I do what I do.
This is why I've dedicated myself to helping players find their natural way to play this amazing game.
